The Nerazzurri are strong favourites in these Monza vs. Inter predictions for Saturday afternoon. Following a poor start to the season, the hosts have found their Serie A feet but will struggle against top class opponents.

Monza vs. Inter odds

1 – Inter to win – 4/6

2 – Over 2.5 goals scored – 7/10

3 – Lukaku to score first – 7/2

4 – Both teams to score – 3/4

5 – Dany Mota to score anytime – 10/3

It is a packed Serie A schedule as Monza welcome Inter to the Stadio Brianteo on Saturday afternoon. Despite an inconsistent start to the season, the Nerazzurri remain in touching distance of the top four and will be keen to make a positive start following the World Cup break.

Inter went into the winter in strong form with six wins out of their last seven games, with confidence building around the San Siro. As a result, we back the visitors to come away with three points on Saturday, should they manage to carry their form over a six-week gap.

Another factor in the visitors’ favour will be the return of Romelu Lukaku. The forward might have looked out of form during the World Cup but will have benefitted from the opportunity to find his feet. The Belgian was fundamental in Inter’s scudetto win and provides a near unique profile in Serie A.

Even an out-of-form Lukaku is likely to pose too much of a challenge for Monza’s back line and he is our tip to score first this weekend. With all of Inter’s forwards available, it may be a tough afternoon for the hosts, with their opponents scoring 16 goals in their last five games – so a wager on a high scoring match is worth a punt.

Despite Inter’s dominance on paper, it is not wise to totally write off Raffaele Palladino’s side. Monza have improved markedly and have only failed to score in one of their last six games. The Nerazzurri, for all their goalscoring talents, have retained just one clean sheet in their last five games.

With Stefan de Vrij out injured, Monza could exploit Francesco Acerbi’s lack of pace, although Andrea Petagna is certainly not the man to do it. As a result, a punt on Danny Mota to score anytime could be worth the high odds.

Stefano Sensi is the only injury with Pablo Mari fit to return for Monza. Having played on Wednesday, some rotation may be necessary – with the likes of Gianluca Caprari and Dany Mota all pushing for starts.
