Riccardo Montolivo has praised Italy Coach Cesare Prandelli’s attention to detail, saying he leaves no stone unturned.

The tactician is currently overseeing preparations for his side’s World Cup campaign this summer, with his squad currently taking part in a training camp in Coverciano.

They take on Republic of Ireland in a friendly at Craven Cottage on Saturday evening and ahead of the match, 29-year-old Montolivo said the tactician will have done everything he can by the start of the tournament in Brazil.

“Prandelli pays even more attention to detail in respect to in the past,” Montolivo said at a Press conference. “He is leaving nothing to chance and because of this, I think he seems at ease.

“He is doing everything possible in order for us to be ready. If someone meets a challenge by being ready and relaxed, they can give their best.”

Montolivo was also asked about club and international teammate Mario Balotelli’s mindset, as well as the presence of 2006 World Cup winning Coach Marcello Lippi’s visit to Coverciano.

“Mario is very relaxed, but he knows that the World Cup can be a very important barometer for him on the international level. He knows he will have the support of all the team, but he knows he will have to do all he can for the benefit of the team.

“It’s been very good to see Marcello Lippi, but we were training and there wasn’t much of a chance to chat.”
