Fiorentina are finally nearing a compromise, say reports, and Vincenzo Montella's tenure with Sampdoria could be announced today.
The Aeroplanino is the prime Blucerchiato target after they sacked Walter Zenga last Tuesday, but he is currently still under contract with the Viola.
Fiorentina have a €5m clause for the purchase of Montella and have attempted to enforce it, initially asking for its full payment and then for a more modest €3m, which would still be unrealistic for Sampdoria.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Gigliati may finally have come to more reasonable terms. Thanks to the diplomatic work of Montella's agent Alessandro Lucci alongside the Doria directors, Fiorentina may release their former Coach for €1.2 to €1.3m, which covers only the salary they paid him he was removed from office in July.
Apparently the agreement was reached yesterday and a deal between Montella and Sampdoria could be announced as early as today.
The only doubts to be resolved, says La Gazzetta, have to do with the staff that Montella will be able to bring with him at Sampdoria.
