Vincenzo Montella admits “I have a few more doubts” on his Fiorentina future after a meeting with the club owners.

The Viola leapfrogged Napoli to get fourth place after a 3-0 victory over Chievo and this weekend the Coach had a three-hour meeting with patron Andrea Della Valle.

“I think the game was a worthy conclusion to the journey, as the team had a great season,” said Montella in his Press conference.

“With a bit of luck we finished fourth and I am very pleased that the group reacted so well to the heavy defeat to Sevilla.

“Today I once again felt the joy and motivation that I experienced at the end of my first year here. It’s the only way to give more.

“Why should I leave? Yesterday there was a clear confrontation, but it didn’t entirely clarify the situation. We each expressed our evaluations of the campaign.

“Andrea showed his enthusiasm and passion, Mario Cognini his cynicism and practicality. We took a few days to consider it and will see what happens. I have to look at this professionally and separate from my feelings.

“It was lovely to be part of the joy in the stadium this evening and unfortunately these emotions can affect your thinking! I have a few more doubts after this match.

“I think we could play the same football next season, but need to be extremely clear that the squad did everything within its capabilities. In fact, it did even more.

“The directors told me to take some time off and relax before making a decision. Evidently I look tired.”
