Fiorentina Coach Vincenzo Montella says his side’s recent poor form is a mental issue, not a physical one.

The Viola have recorded just one win in their last four games, and are looking to bounce back against Dynamo Kiev in tomorrow’s Europa League Quarter Final.

“We’ve identified our mistakes and we’re trying to solve them,” Montella assured in his pre-match Press conference.

“We hope that you’ll see the results of that, starting from tomorrow. The problem isn’t physical, it can’t be that.

“We’ve identified our mistakes and we’re trying to solve them,” Montella assured in his pre-match Press conference.

“We hope that you’ll see the results of that, starting from tomorrow. The problem isn’t physical, it can’t be that.

“Something has happened in all of our minds. A difficult game such as this one has come at the right time, and we’ll have to show maximum concentration to bring home a good result.

“They’re a good team, with very talented, very quick players. Fiorentina will need to be at our best to beat the Ukrainians.

“They attack very well, and we have to be very careful.”

With his side having been knocked out of the Coppa Italia and falling behind in the race for third, is the Europa League now Montella’s main priority?

“At this stage of the competition we have to try [to win it]. It won’t be easy. The League is still open, however, and everything can change very quickly, we’ve shown that ourselves.

“As for the game tomorrow, what’s important is to make as few mistakes as possible. We can’t afford mistakes.”
