Sevilla Coach Vincenzo Montella has “no regrets or remorse of any kind” about his time at Milan, and hopes to avoid Roma in the Champions League.

L’Aeroplanino was sacked by the Rossoneri earlier this season, taking over the Andalusian club and guiding them past Manchester United to reach the Quarter-Finals in Europe.

“I have no regrets or remorse of any kind,” Montella shrugged, speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I was a different kind of Coach to the one they were looking for.

“I was a different kind of Coach to the one they were looking for.

“The Arsenal game? I’m only interested in what concerns my team.

“According to the players I coach now the training is hard. Go figure…”

Montella was then asked if the reason he hadn’t said much about the Diavolo is that he can’t talk about them due to a non-disclosure agreement when he was fired.

“Not true, I can say nice things, just not bad…”

Sevilla are in the last eight in the Champions League, where the former striker could meet his friend and ex-teammate, Roma Coach Eusebio Di Francesco.

“If this [the Manchester United game] was a game to write history then I’m proud I could be a part of it,” Montella said.

“We achieved a prestigious objective in a special stadium, it was a magical night.

“I get the feeling we’ll draw Bayern, but if there’s a road to the final then I hope to meet Roma and my friend Di Francesco as late as possible.

“I told him that in that case we’d both be more or less happy with the outcome of the match.”

Sevilla also face Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final on April 28, and Montella is under no illusions about the scale of the task facing his team.

“It’d be easier if they didn’t show up…”
