The Viola host the Bianconeri on Sunday, and the Coach has admitted he is aware that it will be a tough match for his men.
“I am aware how important this major challenge is,” he told reporters. “It’s important for the club and all the fans.
“We are preparing to do better than we did last year – even though we did quite well against Juve.
“Our goal is to satisfy the fans. We want to win.”
Montella then commented on his early experiences in Florence and the controversy surrounding ‘territorial discrimination’ in Italian stadium.
“I make the most of this beautiful city every day. I wake up ever yday and am thankful that I live here.
“The atmosphere in the city is beautiful, and the fans reflect that – they are demanding but also warm.
“For me, territorial discrimination is the same as chanting against someone because of the colour of their skin.
“However, I do find it excessive that whole stadiums are closed because of a few people.”
