Vincenzo Montella is “very proud” that his Catania beat Inter by playing open and attacking football.

The Elefantini were losing 1-0 at half-time, but fought back for an impressive 2-1 success at the Massimino.

“We should all be very proud to see Catania play against one of the big clubs with open and attacking football,” said the Coach.

“We always tried to play this way, but the difference is that sometimes we're more clinical in the finish than on other occasions.

“This team can improve a great deal, as when you begin work, you have to give it all you've got.

“I have a strong club behind me, so am allowed to focus only on being a Coach.”

Montella has caused controversy by repeatedly dropping Maxi Lopez to the bench, but so far has been proven right.

“Maxi Lopez has always been used to the role of principle striker. I have three forwards at my disposal, so it is my duty and my right to choose among them. It's good that Catania have competition for places where before there was not.”
