Roma director of sport Monchi revealed they no longer have Financial Fair Play concerns and have been “working for some time” on transfers.

“The mission for next season is to continue what we did this term. Our last three months have been very strong and we need to keep that going consistently,” the director of sport told Mediaset Premium.

“It would be a lack of respect to the other sides if we thought that the Scudetto race was only with Juventus. We’ve got to look at our own results and the path we need to take.

“It has been a good year, but we’re still missing something. At the start, we had the pressure of Financial Fair Play parameters, but now we are in a more ‘normal’ situation and can make any decisions we want to.

“The transfer market is made of buying and selling, so it’s up to us to decide. At this moment we do have some ideas, but need to meet with the Coach to discuss another more important issue.

“We’ve been working for some time to find the right players who we are convinced could take Roma up a level and continue the growth process.

“It’s not just important to buy, but to make the most of the squad we have. The good thing is that I am one and the same with Eusebio Di Francesco, we share the same mind.”
