Inter's Miranda believes Serie A is 'more balanced' than La Liga: 'We're aiming for the Champions League, but why not Scudetto?'

On the same day that his fellow defender Jeison Murillo discussed at length the club's objectives, the Brazilian signed from Atletico Madrid published his answers to fan questions that he received through social media.

“For 2016 I want a lot of energy, and I want to conquer titles with Inter,” he said, as reported by FcInterNews.it.

“I chose Inter because I really believed in the team. Now we want to fight for the scudetto. We have a strong and united group, that is focused on winning. I hope I can make my dream come true: becoming champion with Inter.

“Inter are a great team and they showed me a really strong project, as evidenced by the fact that we're currently first in Serie A. Our objective is to qualify for the next Champions League.

“Murillo? Jeison, alongside Andrea Ranocchia and Juan Jesus, is a great defender, with great potential. I hope all of them can have performances of a high level that will show their true value.”

Finally, the 31-year-old was asked to compare the defence of Atletico Madrid with that of Inter, as well as the Liga and Serie A.

“Both are excellent defences. What's immediately obvious about them is that the whole team helps out in defence and sacrifice themselves in that phase.

“Aside from the quality of the people at the back, the strikers are the first defenders of the team, and this makes our own work a lot easier. A great team begins from a great defence.

“As for the championships, Serie A really surprised me because it's so competitive. There are many teams considered to be small which fight it out on equal terms with the big ones.

“In the Liga, the big teams are definitely the favourites, while I consider Serie A to be much better balanced.”
