The FIGC announces a minute’s silence for all games this weekend, for the victims of an earthquake in central Italy.

At least 60 people have been killed after violent tremors near Perugia, with the towns Accumoli and Amatrice particularly badly affected.

“The Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio expersses deep condolences and solidarity to the families of the victims of the earthquake which hit central Italy in the night,” a statement reads.

“The President of the FIGC, Carlo Tavecchio, in agreement with the President of CONI, Giovanni Malago, has ordered a minute’s silence to be observed at all the matches on the next match day in the football Leagues.

“The national teams which take the field today and in the coming days will also wear black armbands as a sign of solidarity in such a time of great pain for the whole country.”
