Just days later, he was posing in a Biancocelesti jersey, and has already become a mainstay in the squad.

The 20-year-old Serbian had flown in to complete a transfer to Fiorentina, but bailed at the last minute when it became evident his heart was set on Lazio.
Just days later, he was posing in a Biancocelesti jersey, and has already become a mainstay in the squad.
“Lazio called me up this week to compliment me for my goal,” he revealed after scoring in Serbia’s Under-21 qualifier with Italy.
“The club expects to continue the work together towards those objectives I want to achieve with the Biancocelesti jersey on my back.
“It’s easy to settle in when you move to Rome, which is an important factor. I was also able to find my place in the squad, to score and I am very happy.
“Dusan Basta and Filip Djordjevic are experienced and treat me like one of the family, so it’s great to rely on such sincere support.
“I’m living the dream at Lazio! I have just started my career at a big club, I have a five-year contract and there’s everything needed for me to do well.”
