Alexis Saelemaekers is undergoing his medicals with Bologna today ahead of his transfer from Milan.

The 24-year-old Belgian winger has been cut from Stefano Pioli’s project in the Lombardy capital following the club’s work in the transfer window this summer.

Milan have picked up a number of players over the last two months including Samuel Chukwueze, Christian Pulisic and Noah Okafor, all of whom are comfortable on the right wing, leaving limited space for Saelemaekers.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, Saelemaekers will leave Milan for Bologna on a €500,000 loan deal with a €9m buy option attached.

The 24-year-old arrived in the Emilia-Romagna capital this afternoon to undergo his medicals at the Isokinetic clinic. Once these have been completed, he’ll put pen to paper on his new contract.

Last season, Saelemaekers saw 1838 minutes of action across 39 total appearances. In that time, he scored four goals and provided three assists, often coming off the bench in latter stages of games.

  1. 9 million?! Milan should’ve asked for more for the Salamander! And from everything we could’ve seen in the first 2 rounds, Bologna are building quite a decent team!
