Milan insist that Carlos Tevez will only arrive in January if Manchester City agree to a free six-month loan.

The Rossoneri held talks with the player’s agent last week to discuss a possible switch to the Stadio Meazza.

Milan are looking for a new forward given that Antonio Cassano may be sidelined for the rest of the season following minor heart surgery.

“If someone arrives in January then it will be on loan, for free, with an option to buy clause at the end of the season,” Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani noted.

“That applies to Tevez too…

“However, there is some time to go until the market opens. We’ll watch and evaluate the situations.

“If Cassano hadn’t encountered any problems then we wouldn’t be here today talking about these things.”

Tevez is looking for a new club after falling out with boss Roberto Mancini during September’s Champions League clash at Bayern Munich.

Galliani also insisted that Massimiliano Allegri would remain despite the fact that his contract expires at the end of this season.

“Allegri is staying, 100 per cent,” he continued. “There is no problem with the Coach or with his contract.

“We’re all very happy with what we saw yesterday in the 4-0 win over Chievo and not just that…”
