Speculation in Britain is that Milan are seeking to end Fernando Torres’ two-year loan from Chelsea after just six months.

The Spaniard has struggled for form since joining the Rossoneri in the summer, netting just once, with a problematic ankle injury cited as the reason.

However, the Mirror are running the line this week that the San Siro side have seen enough and are looking to send the 30-year-old back to Stamford Bridge in January, a full 18 months ahead of schedule.

Chelsea are seen as reluctant to take back the player and are speculated as ready to then offer him around for free in the winter market.

AS today report that Torres’ boyhood club Atletico Madrid may be interested in making a move for him.

However, the Mirror say that Atleti have turned down the chance to take Torres back, in a proposal involving Alessio Cerci moving temporarily to San Siro.
