Milan President Paolo Scaroni confirms a voluntary agreement with UEFA on Financial Fair Play is the “desirable” outcome.

The previous owners were rejected for both a voluntary agreement and a settlement agreement, which eventually led to the Rossoneri being thrown out of the Europa League.

Elliott Management forced out Yonghong Li and his board, and the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled that the club should be reinstated to the Europa League, with a new FFP agreement to be struck.

The previous owners were rejected for both a voluntary agreement and a settlement agreement, which eventually led to the Rossoneri being thrown out of the Europa League.

“There was a blackout period which will end next week,” Scaroni explained in today’s Press conference.

“If we could conclude this affair with a voluntary agreement that would be desirable. The procedure has started, but I can’t give you any more details right now.”

Scaroni has no intention of running the club permanently, with Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis and Roma CEO Mauro Baldissoni touted to come in.

“Some progress has been made, but we are not yet at the final decision. We'll get there within a few weeks.

“Until that moment, I will do everything I need to at Milan. At some point I will take a step back and there will be a person who will take care of Milan full-time.”
