Milan have reportedly opened talks with Barcelona over Clement Lenglet’s loan in January.

The Rossoneri are expected to welcome a new centre-back in the winter transfer window but according to Calciomercato.com, they may even sign two defenders next month. Stefano Pioli is short of options at the back with Fikayo Tomori as the only fit centre-back currently.

Milan have already opened talks with Arsenal for Jakub Kiwior and are contemplating Matteo Gabbia’s return from his loan at Villarreal, but according to the Italian outlet, Barcelona defender Lenglet has also entered the Rossoneri’s radars.

The French defender is currently on loan at Aston Villa but has only made five appearances in the Conference League this term and has yet to make his Premier League debut.

Barcelona are open to discussing a loan to the Stadio Meazza for Lenglet, but Milan need the Catalans to pay part of his €6m-a-year salary in the second part of the campaign and receive the green light from Aston Villa for the 28-year-old’s temporary transfer.
