Inter Coach Roberto Mancini is known to be an admirer of the Italian international, and yesterday admitted that the player was a target for the Nerazzurri.

According to Tuttosport, Mancio has repeatedly impressed upon the Inter hierarchy how much he wants the player at San Siro, and would look to build his team around Cerci.

Furthermore, Danilo D’Ambrosio is a good friend of Cerci’s from their time at Torino, and the newspaper believes that could help push the player in the direction of the Beneamata.

However, Tuttosport also states that Milan could offer the 27-year-old a return to Serie A, and believes that the Rossoneri hold a potential trump card in the form of Fernando Torres.

The Spanish forward has been linked with a return to Atleti, with Simeone’s assistant German Burgos admitting today that such a move would be ‘wonderful’.

The sports daily states that Simeone has asked for a new centre-forward, and would welcome Torres with open arms, raising the possibility of a swap deal involving Cerci.
