Stefano Pioli saw positives signs from Mike Maignan and Theo Hernandez in Milan’s training session this morning.

Both players were absent for the 1-0 win over Hellas Verona after picking up minor issues in the Champions League clash with Newcastle United.

Milan are gearing up for their next game against Cagliari on Wednesday, another must-win match as they look to maintain pace with league leaders Inter, who sit three points ahead following the Derby della Madonnina triumph.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, Milan started preparations for their clash with Cagliari at Milanello this morning, where Maignan and Theo Hernandez joined their teammates for the entirety of the squad training session.

Davide Calabria continued his personalised training programme and Rade Krunic will undergo a round of tests this afternoon to understand the seriousness of his thigh injury.

Theo Hernandez is expected to start against Cagliari on Wednesday but Maignan could be rested, with Marco Sportiello doing a convincing job as his backup.
