With Pierre Kalulu ruled out for several months, Milan are looking around for Theo Hernandez understudies, including Juan Miranda and Quilindschy Hartman.

It has been known for years that Theo Hernandez is irreplaceable in Stefano Pioli’s side and the search for someone who can fill in or at least give him time to rest will continue in the January transfer window.

This is because Kalulu has undergone surgery for a torn muscle in his thigh and will be out for four months.

The absolute favourite is Miranda, as multiple reports in Spain already suggest that Milan have a basic agreement in place to sign him as a free agent next summer when his contract with Real Betis runs down.

However, they are also hoping to convince Betis to part with the left-back in January for a minimal fee.

Another candidate mentioned by Tuttosport is Feyenoord talent Hartman, who only turned 22 this week.

He already has three senior caps for the Netherlands, scoring one goal, and is a product of the Feyenoord youth academy.

The contract was only recently extended and runs to June 2026, helping to boost his asking price to over €20m.
