Milan reportedly held a new round of talks with Porto to explore a deal for Mehdi Taremi as they wait to let Lorenzo Colombo leave to Monza.

Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com details how Colombo’s agent met with the Rossoneri management yesterday to finalise the details of the 21-year-old’s new contract.

The Italian forward is waiting to leave for Monza on loan, but Milan first want to secure a number striker to ensure Stefano Pioli has enough options up front.

Multiple reports in Portugal suggest that Milan contacted Porto in recent days to explore a discount on his €25-30m price tag.

The Rossoneri could only sign Taremi on a loan deal with a buy option attached, or a lower-cost definitive transfer of around €10-15m, making a deal unlikely at this stage.

The sale of some redundant players, like Divock Origi and Fode Ballo-Toure, could change things but time is starting to run out in the summer transfer window.
