According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan expect Mike Maignan to return in time for the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16 against Tottenham in March.

The France international has been out of action since September when he sustained a calf injury while on international duty with his national team.

It wasn’t meant to be a lengthy injury, but the ex-Lille keeper hasn’t yet made his return to action. Milan now see the light out of the tunnel as, according to Gazzetta, they expect Maignan back in the coming days.

The 27-year-old could be back for next week’s home clash against Atalanta, but the most likely scenario is to see him between the sticks for the first time in 2023 in the away game with Fiorentina on March 4.

This means Maignan will be available against Spurs in London on March 8 in the return leg of the Champions League Round of 16.

Ciprian Tatarusanu has replaced the French keeper over the last few months and will start against Monza in the next Serie A match at the U-Power Stadium on Saturday.
