On what would’ve been his 87th birthday, Milan and Monza have paid tribute to their former president Silvio Berlusconi.
The ever-controversial Italian businessman purchased the Rossoneri in 1986 and guided them to 29 trophies across his 31-year spell at the helm, including eight Scudetti and five Champions League titles.
Berlusconi sold Milan in 2017 but didn’t leave the world of football for long, returning a year later with Monza, who were then in Serie C. The former Prime Minister of Italy worked hard to build a project with the Biancorossi and took them to Serie A for the first time in their history.
Berlusconi passed away on June 12 of this year at the age of 86 after suffering from severe pneumonia and leukaemia. He was born on September 29, 1936, so today would’ve been his 87th birthday.
His former clubs Milan and Monza both paid tribute to Berlusconi today, celebrating his time in charge of the two clubs.
