Sinisa Mihajlovic’s wife Arianna shared inspirational quotes on Christmas day, the first since the ex-Serie A defender and coach died.

Mihajlovic died of leukaemia in Rome on January 16, 2022. His wife Arianna shared two stories on Instagram to remember the ex-Bologna coach on Christmas.

“The first Christmas after losing somebody is tough,” she said.

“You are in no mood to celebrate, but you do it. For the kids, for the family. It will hurt. The presents you don’t need to buy. The empty chair, the memories of celebrations in the past. The voice you don’t hear. It will be difficult, but you’ll get over it.

“It could happen that, among tears, a smile will appear on your face. There’s nothing bad. Be grateful for the celebrations you made together, start a new tradition in his memory and always remember the love that was there.”

Arianna Mihajlovic also shared a second message, a poem by St.Augustin.

“Death is nothing. I have only passed to another place: like seeds hidden in the next room. I’m always me and you are always you. We are still what we used to be for each other,” it reads.

“Call me in the same way you always called me, talk to me in the same affectionate way. Don’t change the tone of your voice. Don’t be sad. Continue to smile about those little things we liked.

“Pray, smile and think about me. My name will always be a familiar word, name it as always without sadness. Our life still has the same meaning. Why should I be out of your thoughts just because I am out of your sight?

“I am not far away, I am on the other side, just around the corner. It’s all good. You will find my heart and its purified tenderness. Dry your tears and don’t cry if you love me. Your smile is my peace.”
