“This is a clash near the top of the table, but we won’t settle for less than a win. Our objective is to get into Europe and we must continue on this track,” said the Toro Coach in his Press conference.

“I have great affection and respect for Lazio, as this club was a part of my life as a player. I live in the present and future, though, so there will be no going easy on them.

“Considering the difficulties other clubs are having, this team can target a top three finish in two or three years. I think I’m one of the few Coaches around who sets himself a target and declares it.

“I knew we’d start slow, but we’re recovering fast, our President is ambitious and the fans deserve a great deal, so we’ll work hard to achieve these objectives. There’s everything needed for us to get into Europe every season.”

It is something of a head-to-head with Lazio and an interesting battle between former teammates Ciro Immobile and Andrea Belotti, who play together with success for Italy.

“They are both strong strikers, so the two defences will be wary. There’s also Keita Balde Diao and Marco Parolo to worry about, but if we play with the same determination and ferocity as in recent games, we’ll cause them huge problems.

“My team has an attacking approach and in seeking victory we take a few risks, but I’m happy with that. I want more courage in pressing high, because that keeps the opposition far away from our penalty area. I also want us to be more aggressive and win the ball back even quicker.”

Mihajlovic also gave a team talk to the fans at the Stadio Grande Torino.

“I want to see the stadium packed and like a cauldron, because the passion of the fans is important. I’d love to see the entire arena in Granata colours, so you bring your voices and we’ll bring our legs.”
