It’s widely reported Bologna Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic has been given the all-clear by his leukaemia specialists to sit on the bench for today’s game with Lazio.

The tactician was diagnosed with leukaemia in July and had been on the touchline for the first two rounds of the season against Hellas Verona and SPAL.

He went back into the Sant’Orsola Hospital for a second course of chemotherapy on September 8 and that is now nearing completion.

Once again, Mihajlovic has asked for special permission to be given the day out so he can attend the match at the Stadio Dall’Ara this afternoon.

According to multiple sources, this morning’s blood tests showed he is well enough to be allowed out, albeit with precautions such as a facemask.

This is a very special game for Mihajlovic, as he wore the Lazio jersey from 1998 to 2004 and was teammates with current Aquile Coach Simone Inzaghi.

This morning, approximately 1,000 ultras from both Bologna and Lazio went on a joint pilgrimage to a local church, where they prayed for Mihajlovic and all others currently dealing with illness.
