“The break for international duty really didn’t help us and broke some of the momentum, so it’s important to get back out there tomorrow with the right mentality,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“We’ll evaluate Erick Pulgar and Giancarlo Gonzalez, as they had long journeys across time zones. Gonzalez was meant to leave (for a transfer to the LA Galaxy) straight away, but we decided to keep him with us for another week and he responded like a great professional.”

Bologna have certainly improved since Mihajlovic replaced Pippo Inzaghi, but despite two wins on the bounce, they remain in the relegation zone.

“We’re glad the fans believe in our chances of safety and were close to us even during the most difficult moments. We must continue training this hard and playing with this spirit, never forgetting we are still in the bottom three and achieved nothing yet. There is a long road ahead of us and we must never forget what we’ve been through.”

Sassuolo are without a victory since January and this represents an Emilia-Romagna Derby for Bologna too.

“They play very good football and will cause us problems, but at the same time also have some weaknesses. It is a fundamental match for us, as we have to win and we know that we can do it.

“We must maintain our mentality and style of football, not change depending on the opponent.”

Lyanco is suspended, with Federico Santander still nursing a shoulder injury.

Bologna squad for Sassuolo: Da Costa, Skorupski, Santurro; Calabresi, Dijks, Gonzalez, Helander, Danilo, Mbaye, Paz; Donsah, Dzemaili, Krejci, Nagy, Poli, Pulgar, Soriano, Svanberg; Destro, Edera, Falcinelli, Orsolini, Palacio, Sansone
