Sinisa Mihajlovic admits Sampdoria’s 0-0 draw with Cesena “feels like a defeat” with wasted opportunities.

The Blucerchiati unveiled their new system with four strikers playing simultaneously, but failed to break down the relegation-threatened side.

“We prepared this game in the right way, but if I think of this draw and earlier this season, I have to say we threw away four points by creating 20 scoring opportunities,” Coach Mihajlovic told Sky Sport Italia.

“This result feels like a defeat. I can’t tell the lads anything about the build-up, but we weren’t determined enough in our finishing. If we continue like this, then I am confident the results will arrive.

“We tried to throw all our quality on to the pitch and if we’d just broken the deadlock, there would’ve been many goals.

“We weren’t lucky, but also not determined enough. Anything can still happen this season and we have to continue with this style of football.”
