Bologna boss Sinisa Mihajlovic insists his side didn’t have a physical drop in their 4-3 home defeat against Sassuolo who recovered from two goals down.

"The game changed when we were leading 3-1,” he told Dazn after the game.

“We had two opportunities in the area and we could close the game. We didn’t, we allowed a goal in numerical inferiority and then we deflated. We had the strength to fight back, but we couldn’t score the equalizer.”

“The episodes, unfortunately, did not go well. We scored goals and created more opportunities," he continued.

“We deserved four points if not six in the last two games and we go home with zero points. We must not lose self-confidence and trust and stay calm.

“It hurts us all because we deserved a lot more points in the last two games. I look at the performance and today there was. Sassuolo did nothing for 70 minutes".

Riccardo Orsolini scored Bologna’s third goal but it wasn’t enough for the Rossoblu to claim the three points.

"It was the first game he had played in a long time. He had entered from the pitch and did well in Benevento. We all expect more as we do from other players."

“I don’t think it was a physical drop,” Mihajlovic continued.

“My impression is that something mentally changed during the game, not physically.”

“We have young and promising players, in whom we believe so much.

“We gamble on young boys, since we couldn’t get players ready.

“You have to be patient with young players, knowing that there are ups and downs.”

Another bad news for Bologna comes from the injury of Lorenzo De Silvestri in the second half.

“I do not know [his physical conditions],” said Mihajlovic.

“Let’s see tomorrow after the checks".
