Torino Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic says Nikola Maksimovic will start in the Coppa Italia, amid talk of a move to Napoli.

The Partenopei are believed to be interested in the centre-back as a replacement for Kalidou Koulibaly, who has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea.

Tomorrow sees the Granata take on Pro Vercelli in the cup, and the Coach reveals the defender will play from the start.

“Maksimovic has always trained well and he’s in excellent condition,” Mihajlovic noted in his pre-match Press conference.

“He’ll play tomorrow from the start. The Coppa Italia is one of our two objectives this season, we don’t have an easy draw but we’ll take it one game at a time.

“Tomorrow it’s Pro Vercelli and we have to face them with the utmost respect and not underestimate them. It’ll be our first real challenge of the new season, and the reward is a place in the next round.

“They’ll come here to play their game and try to get through, but with all due respect we’re Toro and we’re playing at home.

“If we play as I know we can then I think we’ll win in the end, but we mustn’t underestimate them. The important thing is to have the right attitude and approach to the match.”
