David Balleri has backed his former Sampdoria teammate Sinisa Mihajlovic to provide the ‘jolt’ necessary as Coach at Marassi.
The Serbian is expected to finalise terms of agreement to take over at Samp this week and has received backing from one of his former teammates during a spell at the club as player.
“If Sampdoria have made such a decision it is because they are convinced of the Coach that they have chosen,” Balleri has told Tuttomercatoweb this week.

“Mihajlovic has demonstrated his value in Catania, Florence and with Serbia and is experienced and capable and can provide the boost that they need.
“I was with him for three years and he showed great personality. Him, Mancini, Mannini, dragged our team.
“For me, he is the right person at the right time, because Samp is not going through a good moment, they are unrecognisable from last year and need a jolt.
“Sinisa is absolutely the right motivator for the club, he has great characters and the desire to do well. And then he is also a Coach who is methodical, meticulous. Samp have made the right choice.”
