Delio Rossi has revealed his intention to welcome Fabrizio Miccoli back into the fold in tonight's Europa League match against CSKA Moscow.

The veteran striker has been plagued by injuries in the last six months and is only just getting back to full fitness after a brief comeback a month ago.

"Our captain needs to play to find his best match fitness again and not to injure himself," Rossi said.

"I hope that we see the same spirit in my team again that I admired for an hour in the first game against the Russians."

Rossi then gave his reaction to the news this week that Palermo's director of sport Walter Sabatini has quit after a row with Maurizio Zamparini.

"I haven't had any traumatic feeling following his decision. There was no sign of what was boiling up in the pot. I wasn't even alerted when he left Lazio. And now I find it difficult to speak about it.

"I came to Palermo also by virtue of Walter's presence who I respect a lot as a man and as a professional. It doesn't mean that today I feel less protected because since I started my job as a Coach, I have felt exposed."
