Fabrizio Miccoli has assured he'll be “playing for Palermo and my Lecce” to send Sampdoria into Serie B on Sunday.

The relegation battle is essentially between Lecce and Samp, who are divided by just two points with two games left.

This weekend Lecce face local rivals Bari, who are already down, and Sampdoria welcome Coppa Italia Finalists Palermo.

“I want to be on the field against Sampdoria and give my absolute best,” wrote Rosanero star Miccoli on his Facebook page.

This weekend Lecce face local rivals Bari, who are already down, and Sampdoria welcome Coppa Italia Finalists Palermo.

“I want to be on the field against Sampdoria and give my absolute best,” wrote Rosanero star Miccoli on his Facebook page.

“I want to do it for me and for ‘my' Lecce, who are battling for safety in Serie A against the Blucerchiati.

“I also hope that Lecce can win the local derby against Bari.”

Miccoli is a Lecce native who has never disguised his love for the club, even if he is yet to play for his home team.

If the rest of the Palermo squad have little to play for this weekend, then the same certainly cannot be said of the ‘Pocket Striker.'

Similarly, Bari have assured fans they will do everything in their power to drag local rivals Lecce down into Serie B with them.
