According to Sky Sport Italia, Inter is the priority rather than Chelsea if Dries Mertens does walk away from Napoli.

The Belgium international will be a free agent once his contract at the Stadio San Paolo expires this summer.

He is still mulling over the offer of an extension with the Partenopei, and considering proposals to move elsewhere.

It’s suggested Napoli are ready to give him a two-year contract with signing-on bonus and a salary worth €10m per season.

Sky Sport Italia report this evening that if Mertens does choose to leave Napoli, then his priority would be to remain in Serie A and join Romelu Lukaku at Inter.

Chelsea continue to push hard, with manager Frank Lampard repeatedly trying to urge him into a Premier League switch.

Mertens just turned 33 last week and so far this season has scored 12 goals with six assists in 29 official games for Napoli.
