Alexander Merkel says he would consider a move to German club Hoffenheim after failing to break into the first XI at Udinese.

“Hoffenheim has a great, young team that plays attractive football,” the midfielder is quoted as saying.

“I would listen to their offer because the situation in Udine is unsatisfactory for me, I’m not in the plans of the Coach.”

The 21-year-old German youth international has been playing his football in Italy since his 2008 move from Stuttgart to the Milan youth sector.

After spells at San Siro and Genoa, he joined the Bianconeri in January 2013, but he featured in just five Serie A games for Francesco Guidolin.
