Felipe Melo’s proposed permanent move from Juventus to Galatasaray has reportedly collapsed.

The Brazilian spent last season on loan in Turkey and was keen to remain, but Galatasaray have been unable to match the Italian club’s financial demands.

The 29-year-old was netted last summer on a temporary basis at a cost of €1.5m, with a buy-out fee of €13m agreed.

However, Galatasaray have since been trying to get a discount from the new Italian champions – a club who signed Melo from Fiorentina in 2009 for €24m.

Melo had a stellar 2011-12 campaign, netting 12 goals in 36 games as his side won the Turkish championship.
