The former Sevilla midfielder was relegated from the Premier League with Cardiff City last season and has been linked with a move away this summer.

The latest speculation has paired the 26-year-old with a move to Italy, with Inter suggested as studying a potential deal.

The Nerazzurri are understood to be looking at an initial loan deal for the tough-tackling midfielder, but one that Cardiff are apparently pushing includes an automatic purchase clause, linked to terms such as appearances and objectives.

It is believed that talks between the clubs have been perpetuated through Erick Thohir’s relationship with Cardiff’s owners.

Whilst negotiations are generally seen as ongoing on a deal that the Welsh side reportedly want to pull in no less than €10m from, Sky Sport Italia suggest terms at this price level, with a €1.8m-a-year contract for the player, have already been agreed.

Meanwhile, Medel’s international teammate Pinilla has also confirmed that a deal may be imminent.

“Medel told me that he could go to Inter and he asked me for information about Italy,” the Cagliari forward has told the Corriere dello Sport today.
