Inter Coach Walter Mazzarri insists he is not worried by Brazilian midfielder Hernanes’ slow start to the season.
The 29-year-old joined the Nerazzurri in a €20m deal last January, but has come in for some criticism so far this season.
“He hasn’t been as bad as people have made out,” defended Mazzarri in a Press conference ahead of his side’s game against Atalanta tomorrow.
“He got two assists against Sassuolo. Sure, from him you expect more, but he’ll soon be back to his decisive best, even if he did not do so well against Palermo in a more defensive role.”
Mazzarri also spoke about the possible return of Rodrigo Palacio so the starting line-up.
“I think Palacio could start. We had planned for him to return in this game. He is a modern player, and can play centre-forward or as a second striker.
“It’s important that we get him back to his best, because when he’s on top form he can do everything.
“Could Icardi, Osvaldo and Palacio all play? I always want to score more goals than the opposition, and I love to play beautiful football.
“Technically they can do it, you saw them together for the last quarter of an hour against Palermo, but I’m not sure if the balance of the team was better or worse.”
