Torino Coach Walter Mazzarri demands consistency from his squad and warns “in the second half of the season every team is hungry for points”.

The Granata beat Cagliari at the weekend, and they’re back in action against relegation strugglers Crotone tomorrow night.

“In the second half of the season every team is hungry for points, especially those fighting to stay up,” Mazzarri said in his pre-match Press conference.

“They’ll come here to get points, you could see that in the first half against Cagliari with how aggressively they played.

“Crotone have got some good results, like the one against Inter. They’ve lost some matches too, but in the second half of the season all these games are difficult.

“We needed that win against Cagliari, I told the lads that has to be a starting point. Above all I’m talking about the second half.

“They started the first half strongly but I knew they couldn’t last the whole game at that pace, then we made some tactical changes which helped us.

“I want to see the spirit of the second half against Cagliari. Training is only indicative up to a certain point, I want to see it in the game and continue to do what we did against Cagliari.

“Teams that want to be strong must always have the attitude of thinking about the next game, regardless of how the previous one went.

“If you get eight good results in a row, the ninth is the most important. If we want to bring Torino to the levels I hope, we need to drill that mentality into the lads.”
