Rossoneri Coach Max Allegri commented this weekend that Mazzarri tended to whip up controversy, so his colleague wasted no time in hitting back.
“There are 12 Finals from here to the end of the season and the game against Milan is only worth three points,” declared the Napoli chief.

“It's not remotely true that this is the most important match of my career. Allegri is talking rubbish and I've never really spoken to him, so I can't comment. There's a part of the northern media who like to attack me and twist everything I say.
“Seeing as my results are going well, they have to find other ways to attack me. I'm accused of being a moaner, but I have never complained in my life. If anything, I protest.
“Milan and Inter don't complain about refereeing errors, but that's because they know all they have to do is step on to the field and hope incidents go their way.
“Last week there was talk of referees balancing out the situation, but if that were the case then we would've reached this appointment only two points behind Milan. We weren't considered on a par with Milan and Inter, but for now we're in the Scudetto race too, without favours from anyone.”
Ezequiel Lavezzi is suspended and Gianluca Grava injured, so it's a choice between Giuseppe Mascara, Juan Zuniga and Jose Sosa to replace El Pocho.
“I could choose Mascara, as he did well in previous games, but I could also make different choices like an extra midfielder.”
