Assistant manager Nicolò Frustalupi was on the bench for Monday’s 0-0 draw in Cagliari, as Mazzarri underwent a week of tests after being taken unwell.

“I want to thank everyone for the affection shown. I got the feeling other people care for me more than I do!” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“The President and the doctors made me take a break and they were right, because I did need a complete check-up. Now I am back, feeling better than ever, fired up and eager to do well with Toro.”

The Granata take on Genoa tomorrow, a side that showed marked improvements in the Derby della Lanterna draw with Sampdoria.

“No result is to be taken for granted. We must remember what we got wrong against Parma, as we allowed them too many counter-attacks. Genoa are similar with some quick players, so if we lose the ball, we’ve got to get it back again fast.

“We’ve been working on the psychological aspect of playing at home, as sometimes we are so eager to do well in front of our fans that the opposite happens instead.

“I believe so far this season we’ve deserved to lose two games, as against Torino we lacked balance and with Napoli we got completely the wrong approach.

“Now is the time to change gear, with more determination to score goals. We need to make more of our chances, as we were wasteful against Fiorentina and Bologna.”
