The capital club’s captain was one of 19 people being held as the authorities’ investigation into alleged match-fixing gathers pace.
Mauri is one of numerous players targeted this morning, with Padova’s former Genoa midfielder Omar Milanetto another who will be facing questions.
Police have also arrested five Hungarian citizens who it is claimed are part of a cell controlled by a betting syndicate in Singapore.
Meanwhile, police swooped on Italy’s international training base at Coverciano at 6.25am to go through the belongings of Criscito.
Criscito, now playing his club football in Russia with Zenit St Petersburg, was a former teammate of Milanetto’s at Genoa.
Investigators are taking a close look at the possibility that a Lazio-Genoa tie, which ended 4-2 to the home side, was rigged.
Police also raided the residence of Conte earlier today. The Scudetto winning Coach’s name has been linked with the investigation recently amid unconfirmed allegations that he knew that two Siena matches from last season were fixed.
Neither Criscito or Conte have been arrested however.
Last summer, former Atalanta captain Cristiano Doni was banned for three-and-a-half years as part of the Calcioscommesse scandal. Atalanta were also docked six points.
As part of the same investigation, former Lazio and Italy striker Giuseppe Signori was suspended for five years. He has always maintained his innocence.
