Juventus midfielder Blaise Matuidi may not play against Spal, as he was granted an extra day off training today.

The 31-year-old won the World Cup with France in the summer, and has already played 16 games for the Bianconeri this season.

Before the international break he admitted that he’d “gladly take a week’s holiday”, but he started for Les Bleus against the Netherlands and Uruguay.

According to Sky he was given the day off while his teammates trained at Continassa this afternoon, and could therefore be rested against Spal.

Juve face Valencia, Fiorentina and Inter in the matches after that, and want to have Matuidi fully fit for those.
