Currently with Atalanta” data-scaytid=”3″>Atalanta, Masiello’s plea bargain of a 26-month suspension and a €30,000 fine has been accepted enough for the six counts of illegal activity he faced for his role in the betting scandal to have hit the peninsula this summer.
Former Bari teammates Alessandro Parisi, Marco Rossi and Marco Esposito have all had their plea bargains also accepted. Parisi, who is now a free agent, will serve a two-year ban and pay €10,000 fine.
Meanwhile, Rossi, with Cesena at the moment, is handed a one-year, eight-month ban and €20,000 fine, whilst Esposito, now at Pisa, gets a three-month and 10-day suspension.
Coach Bortolo Mutti and sporting director Guido Angelozzi are both now set to serve four-month bans from the game, whilst Filippo Carobbio, whose testimony has brought Antonio Conte into the whole affair, has had a further two months added to his current 24-month ban.
Similarly, Carlo Gervasoni has had one more month added to his current 23-month ban from the game.
Elsewhere, Sampdoria will begin the Serie A campaign with a one-point penalty and Bari will start the Serie B season with a five-point penalty after both clubs had their plea bargains accepted too.
Cristian Stellini, who was a member of Antonio Conte’s coaching staff at Siena, has had a further six months added to his original two-year ban, whilst the Tuscan club have also accepted a further €80,000 fine.
