Mazzarri is under increasing pressure on the Nerazzurri bench, with Inter going down 2-0 to bottom side Parma on Saturday.

Now La Repubblica is reporting that Everton manager Roberto Martinez could be the man President Erick Thohir would replace Mazzarri with.

The newspaper states that Martinez is seen as the most attractive potential candidate by Inter, having impressed by winning the FA Cup with Wigan, and guiding Everton to fifth place last year.

The Spaniard is young, well-regarded and is managing in the Premier League, all of which are believed to fit Thohir’s blueprint.

The Corriere dello Sport meanwhile is also speculating on Mazzarri’s future.

The Rome-based sports daily asserts that while Thohir is indeed an admirer of Martinez, as well as Sampdoria Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic, the reins could instead be handed to an out-of-work Coach for budgetary reasons.

This would put the likes of Walter Zenga, Leonardo, David Moyes, Clarence Seedorf and Alberto Zaccheroni in the frame.

Despite the speculation, Inter director general Marco Fassone has spoken in support of Mazzarri, declaring there is ‘no emergency’.
