Everton manager Roberto Martinez has cast doubt on Sampdoria’s move for Samuel Eto’o, saying the club has received no ‘concrete’ offers.

The Cameroonian forward is believed to be close to signing for the Blucerchiati, with reports indicating yesterday that the former Inter man had agreed to sign for the club.

However, in a Press conference ahead of his team’s match with West Bromwich Albion, Martinez denied a deal was in the pipeline.

“We’ve had a couple of enquiries, but nothing concrete,” the Spaniard insisted.

“We’ll take a couple of weeks to decided on the next step. I don’t rule anything out at the moment.

“It could be that Samuel stays with us; we’ll see what’s the best for the club and Samuel as well.”
