Porto have told big spending Napoli that they have no intention of selling Jackson Martinez this summer.
After wrapping up a €37m deal for Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Higuain, the Azzurri are now apparently ready to pay €32m for the Colombian.
“Jackson will continue to play for us here in Porto,” President Pinto Da Costa is quoted as saying on Gazzetta.it.
“We don’t want to sell him and we are actually discussing a contract renewal for him.”
The forward has a €40m rescission clause inserted into his contract. Napoli are rumoured to have offered him a five-year contract worth €2m a season.
Martinez is a 26-year-old who joined the Portuguese club last summer from Jaguares.
