Beppe Marotta reveals Carlos Tevez is “relaxed” ahead of the Derby and Arturo Vidal’s contract is progressing.

“Tevez is relaxed. He knows the Derby is a special game that is separate from the rest of the season, but he is always relaxed anyway.

“We never lowered our guard and want to give this great joy to our fans by getting the victory. It’s still worth only three points in the table, but the Derby remains very important.”

Antonio Conte complained that teams are trying to nullify the Juventus threat and has rested Andrea Pirlo for this clash.

“It’s difficult for us to play because the teams close up so much. Obviously, everyone can interpret the game however they want to. It’s up to us now to study counter-measures. We have created many chances in the last few rounds, so perhaps the only aspect we really need to improve is in defence.”

Marotta was asked about reports Vidal is due to sign his contract extension within days.

“There’s no rush, because Arturo has a contract with us. He wants to extend his contract with us and we want to extend it with him. There are other players in the economy of the team and we’ll try to finish these operations off for everyone.”
