General manger Beppe Marotta says Juventus want to keep Alvaro Morata but it’s “very complicated” while a deal for Domenico Berardi “is simpler”.

Morata signed for the Bianconeri in 2014, but selling club Real Madrid retained a buyback clause which they can activate this summer or next.

“We want to keep Alvaro with us, that’s our clear objective,” Marotta told Tuttosport, after the Old Lady secured a fifth Scudetto in a row yesterday.

“It will be very complicated though, it doesn’t depend on us. The lad is having a wonderful time here though, he’s very happy. Juventus is his natural habitat.

“Berardi? If we take into account the difficulty of the negotiations then Berardi is simpler.

“Juan Cuadrado? We haven’t yet spoken to Chelsea, but it’s hard like with Morata. Juan is very well appreciated by [Coach Massimiliano] Allegri, but he’s only on loan.

“I think the English club are well stocked in that department, we’ll try to hold on to Cuadrado, as we will with [Mario] Lemina.”

Marotta hinted yesterday that Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani could arrive, is he a concrete target?

“We could use him, even if our attack has value already, with three youngsters [Paulo Dybala, Alvaro Morata and Simone Zaza] who can play here for many years.

“We’ll be ready to take advantage of opportunities on the transfer market, though there won’t be many in truth because the group is already very strong.

“Some will arrive, but it’s not easy to find players who are better than the ones we already have. In six years we’ve reached a standard where we can be competitive in Europe too.

“A trequartista? Not necessarily, who have flexible players and the same is true of the Coach, who has been very good at managing the resources available to him.”

The director was then asked about possible departures, with Paul Pogba being repeatedly linked with a €100m move to Chelsea, Manchester City or Barcelona.

“Will everyone stay?” Marotta considered.

“If it’s up to us, then absolutely yes. But the destiny of a player is in his head, if one wants to leave then it becomes very difficult to hold onto him.

“We’re not alarmed right now though, there’s great harmony. I noticed during the festivities yesterday that in addition to being a team, Juventus is a group of friends.

“If Pogba is worth €100m, then how much is Dybala? €200m! No, I’m just kidding. €99m and we’ll talk…”
