Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta admits Borussia Dortmund’s Ilkay Gundogan is “unsellable”.

The Bianconeri have been linked with the German international in recent weeks, with reports that they were willing to offer up to €30m to get their man.

“Juventus are taking part in three competitions, and we’re taking part to win,” Marotta told Premium Sport ahead of today’s clash with Verona.

“The most difficult of course is the Champions League, where the strongest teams are. We’re a bit more relaxed now, we’re getting players back.

“We still have players who haven’t been able to express himself fully like [Kwadwo] Asamoah and [Roberto] Pereyra who is out.

“We also want to look around though, to see what opportunities there are.

“Gundogan is a name which hasn’t been brought up by us, but he’s considered unsellable by Borussia Dortmund.

“It’s too early to know what the market will be in June.”

The Old Lady have closed the gap to Inter at the top of the table to three points, but Marotta still sees the Nerazzurri as favourites.

“We’re Juventus, and it’s normal that we’re competing in the League to try and win it, but I think at this moment in time Inter have the advantage.

“It’s a fight which will be decided in the last few games.”

Martin Caceres has been preferred to Daniele Rugani for today’s game, but the director insists the club still has faith in the young centre-back.

“I think that the assessment of the lad must be made as a whole,” Marotta said.

“His technical qualities, his adaptation to the Juventus shirt, his characteristics off the field: they’re all very good.

“He’s a player who can become a very important starting player for Juventus.”
